Ms. Peniana Wainiu is very passionate about natural Resource management and the implementation of programs through community engagement and practices. Her roles include supporting activities across all pillars in the Beqa-Yanuca Seascape works from elements. Prior to joining PBF, she served as a project officer for the Fiji Locally Managed Marine Area (FLMMA) Network, a Programme Assistant through Land Resource Division at the Pacific Community (SPC) and has experience in working with various donor agencies and government agencies. Ms. Wainiu holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Natural Resource Economics from the University of the South Pacific and will utilize her skills to support elements of economic empowerment activities along the projects of the Beqa Lagoon Initiative. She is a strong advocate of natural resource management for communities, especially for women and youth.
