Ulamila Matairakula is the Environmental Officer focused on the Beqa Lagoon Initiative. She is responsible for the development and implementation of research programs and provides support in the planning, coordination and implementation of projects. Likewise, in the development and implementation of training and outreach activities for schools and communities, and of eco-tourism activities. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Marine Science from the University of the South Pacific. Ulamila held previous positions with NGOs, government departments and academia, and brings to the PBF a wide breadth of experience related to coral reefs biology and ecology, fisheries, socio-economics, and ethnography.
